Since founding the Law Office of Erubey Lopez in 2010, I have worked with people facing decisions that affect their families, livelihoods, and futures. My approach starts with listening, identifying what matters, and giving a candid assessment of the options—including their costs and tradeoffs.

Sometimes the right next step is a filing, negotiation, or legal representation. Sometimes it is resolving the problem another way or walking away. My responsibility is to help you make that decision with a clear understanding of what you stand to gain and what you risk.

Experience That Informs My Judgment

 

Much of my legal career has focused on immigration. My experience includes family petitions, adjustment of status, consular processing, waivers, humanitarian relief, citizenship, and representing people facing removal proceedings.

As an immigrant myself, I understand how deeply these decisions reach into a person’s life. Legal problems rarely stay confined to paperwork. They affect work, money, relationships, and a family’s sense of security.

Before opening my practice, I worked in settings that included courts, government, nonprofit legal services, and private law offices:

North County Roots

I grew up in Vista and have built my practice here. My community involvement has included serving as a City of Vista Parks and Recreation Commissioner from 2009 to 2014, participating in local leadership programs, and working with community and immigrant-serving organizations.

My involvement at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church has included the Justice for Immigrants Committee and music ministry. Respect for human dignity remains central to how I work with people.
